We now have our new facility in operation and can finally get some serious projects done regardless of weather for the first time since 2010.

CUSTOM WORK & TIMELINES  :    All refinishing work on pianos that we do not own OR is ready to go in the store as is but the customer wants a custom finish  is considered custom work.  If you are not a patient person then having something refinished is not for you.   We do not rush our projects period.  A refinishing job can be a mystery because there really is no way to nail down a finish date.  A variety of factors have to be considered .  Examples are parts and paint availabilty, veneer patching and set up times but the main factors are cure times and how long that will take.  Cure times vary drastically depending on what type of finish we are applying 

We do not use any chemicals or heat drying processes and every refinishing job is done by one person with a part time helper.  It is a very complicated time consuming, multiple step  process. We are no longer cutting any corners to speed up any of the processes involved , it just makes for more work later on us.
 
Large projects can take anywhere from several weeks to several months.  We do not perform any refinishing in the customers home.   We now have a multiple page contract to explain our rules in more detail. 

Payments:  Payment really depends on the customer and what the condition of the piano is like.  Sometimes we will want a deposit which is normally 40% to cover expenses of pickup , parts etc.   If we have done business together in the past then no up front payments are required.  If you are a record label or production company wanting a custom shell done then the Stage Shell rules apply of payment in full up front.

Insurance on your piano.  We have several different types of insurance to make sure your piano is covered while it stays in our shop. We even have Tornado coverage just in case.

Piano Keys :  Normally replacing key covers is part of the refinishing process.  We have an outside source for having this service done which saves us both money and time.
