Nashville Piano Rescue ™ is a different type of music store, we basically save good decent used pianos from early demise whether it be from storage or from people who will never play them. We have over 90 years of experience, an enormous logistical networking base and go out to find these pianos in other areas, mainly in the north, midwest and western states, we try to avoid instruments from the high humidity southern states. The idea is to get affordable pianos into the hands of area musicians without breaking the bank. We offer Lessons, Tuning, on and off site repairs, parts, refinishing, ebonizing, elite piano moving, you name it. We include real warranties regardless of age on everything we touch. Bottom line is we will save you money and get you an instrument that will last.
The Piano Store Tab represents about 10 % of the actual inventory so for every one piano inventoried in stock and ready to go, there are 10+ others not pictured. We are a built to order shop which is why we are by appointment to make sure we get our work done. When things slow down we will dig into the alternate inventory and add stock into the Piano Store inventory.

PIANO BENCHES : Beginning this spring 2012 we will be building our own line of Piano Benches which will be built exclusively from reclaimed wood, Cast Iron Parts etc, which comes from the old pianos that cannot be fixed. We will have several different models to choose from and will offer shipping as well.
LOCATION: 9640A Rocky Hill Rd, Lascassas TN, 37085. This is a 4500 sqft building which is centrally heated and cooled, we have a concrete drive, park like setting on 17 acres of private land. You can use google maps and we are basically out near the Nashville Speedway off exit 65 and I 840, you would take exit 61 ( Jeffersonville Pike) if you were coming from Franklin TN but exit 65 is a lot safer with less Deer or curves. We are basically 30 minutes from Franklin or Nashville depending on how you go, just keep in mind that although it may seem far to get here that all the deliveries are done at no additional cost to you. Delivery is not tacked on to the price, it's just a courtesy service like it used to be in the past to ensure a Professional Experience and level of service. NO NONSENSE: In trying to keep stock affordable, which is a LOT harder than you would think we are not affiliated with any clubs,unions, advertising companies, agencies, etc that charge enormous quarterly fees for ratings which will eventually drive up costs.
MUSIC VIDEO, FILMING, PHOTOGRAPHY : We have had several artists film here, We have about 17 very private acres currently to film on, which includes the shop. There is a youtube video at the bottom of this page which was done when we first moved in. We do not charge artists to use our space as long as they mention us somewhere. If you do not have a photographer we can refer one to you who is experienced in the music field.
THE SHOP: We basically take the old school approach to our shop and your experience in coming out here. We are kid friendly, you wont have to worry about your kids touching things here, this is a farm type envirornment, with room for kids to run or roam around while you look at the stock. You will see pianos in various stages of repair and we do not sugar coat anything or steer you to the most expensive thing in the shop. You will get precise answers to each question about what is here, when it arrived and the work it's getting or has gotten.
REFINISHING: The first thing I want to say is if you are not a patient person then having a piano refinished is not for you. Refinishing a piano is not the same as doing a chair or desk. Conditions need to be just right depending on type of finish, There is Disassembly, possible Mechanical repair, Veneer Repair, Dry times for Glue, Cure times for Finishes, Since it's a Piano heat drying sources cannot be used. We take our time here to ensure these finishes are done right the first time. You can fully expect a refinish job to take at least 4 weeks depending on time of year. Remember this refinished piano has to be padded and strapped into a truck to be delivered. If it's not cured a finish can be ruined in transit.
PIANO TUNING: We offer no nonsense professional piano tuning. The tuner will come out and tune your piano simple as that. There wont be any up-selling going on, ( telling you you need 100's of dollars of work to do the job). He may make a recommendation if needed but only if it really is.
PRICING : Low Overhead is Key to providing Value in Todays Market. We like to say that our Delivery is on a Courtesy Basis and not just a Free Service. Mainly due to the fact that it is not easy, we don't want to see inexperienced people moving our pianos. Prices are essentially based on our investment, where it came from, if it was shipped from overseas, Canada, off a mountain top etc. What was directly involved, labor, repair and logistics wise to getting it here. We do not base prices on Speculation of what everyone else is doing.
We Offer a 100% trade up guarantee, if you buy a piano from us we will give you whatever you paid for it towards an upgrade to a more expensive Upright or Grand.
WARRANTY: We place a full Warranty on everything that comes through our door. Nothing is more irritating today than to pay a lot of money for something only to have it fail. I go through this constantly with machine tool parts that are seemingly all made overseas. If we work on the Pianos that come through here I will warranty it, regardless of age. We want to make sure that you aren't buying a mystery and you will have piece of mind. This is a real warranty, we don't put some humidity related spin on it. If it breaks I will personally come to your house and fix the issue at no cost to you.
RESTORATIONS : It costs upwards of 10,000.00 + to completely restore an antique piano. Depending on geographical location and labor costs, I have seen 40k dollar estimates for Grand Piano restorations in the past. 3000.00 of that just being for new strings, add in labor, refinishing, new bridges, hammers, felts, springs, soundboard , plate guilding, tuning pins , pin block etc. A lot of the cost is the labor involved with duplication, many parts have to be duplicated by hand from the old donar parts. Does a piano need an all out restoration? Not always, piano's are machines that require upkeep and just like your car if that is neglected one simple issue can lead to headaches later. 90% of the time sound sells the piano over looks, we can do both here, make it sound great again and if needed refinish it as well.

DIGITAL CONVERSIONS: We will also be offering our shop built Digital Conversion Antique upright pianos this summer. Basically this is an Antique Upright or Grand Piano Shell that has been stripped of all it's interior parts. Average weight of an Antique Upright is over 750 pounds, we can lighten these pianos to 150 pounds, making them a breeze to move anywhere, put on studio type wood floor friendly casters and install a premium Yamaha or equivalent 88 key keyboard with sustain pedal. Bottom line is you get a modern sound in a vintage cabinet, no need for tuners and you can plug your recordings into your ipod or PC. There is a photo of a Digital Conversion Piano in the piano store section of this website. Weight is about 160 pounds compared to its original 900.
PIANO PICKUPS: Please use the contact us page to schedule pickups, pianos do not have to be in working order but we dont pick them up from dirt floors or left outside in the rain, We dont pick up mirror top pianos.. Other than that it can be anywhere else, broken, abandoned, apart etc. There is no charge for a pickup and if there are stairs involved let us know in advance. We pick up in the following cities: Nashville TN and surrounding areas, Cincinatti OH, Louisville KY. We can also pickup from any commercial location in the country with advanced notice. If you want to ship something to us we can give you a piano only carrier to use. We also network with moving companies all over the country.
*** FURNITURE STORE TAB*** There is a new furniture store tab at the top of the page. Formerly we were involved with unique institutional type furniture, vintage, antique one off pieces. We are starting to deal in those pieces again. So if you are looking for something that will never break, that will last forever you will find it there.
DELIVERY: For now all deliveries are courtesy as in no extra charge, how long this lasts will depend on the skyrocketing fuel costs and is ground floor only ( 2 - 5 ) entry steps, we can go around the back of the house on masonite if there is less steps there. Any second floor deliveries will require you to hire additional labor to get it up there. We will deliver it to the location and they can use our equipment if they need it. DELIVERY AREA is stated as a 50 mile radius from our shop, we do however make longer range deliveries which include . Mcminnville, Bowling Green KY, Cookeville, Clarksville etc. Really just depends on what is involved at our end.
DELIVERY RADIUS : 50 miles from Murfreesboro 37130 . A 1.50 charge per mile is added on any deliveries over 50 miles to a limit of 100 miles total. We do not sell pianos sight unseen, you must have someone come in and view the item in person or have a representative come in and look at it. We will ship pianos out of the area but it has to be to a commercial location, a piano dealer or moving company etc. We do not use open equipment to transport pianos, Our truck and business is 100% compliant with commerce regulations with the proper USDOT operating authority, insurance etc.
TRADES: We do accept various types of trades towards one of our pianos or refurbishment work and that could be obviously your old piano, doesn't have to be working, other instruments, amps, cars, Antique toys or collectibles, gas pumps, Advertising signs, antique furniture ( no O.S eg sofas or stuffed chairs) farm tractors, ATVs, Motorcycles, Go Karts, equipment/machinery, tools, parts, if it's old and interesting I will take a look at it even if these items are broken we may be able to repair it or use them for parts while still saving you money and getting you what you want.
CONSIGNMENTS: It's been my experience that individuals wanting to consign pianos want full retail price. If you are considering consigning with us keep in mind your instrument will be competing with wholesale priced instruments. We will only be brokering the sale, We will not warranty your piano. We will pick up in our delivery radius only. Any other people wanting to consign their pianos with us will have to have it shipped to our location. I can provide you with area moving companies and shipping agents. There will be an extensive contract and we will do a background check on the piano to make sure it is not financed somewhere. Also all consignments need to be in pristine working condition, We can refinish them to sell faster but the cost would come out of the final settlement.
PIANO MOVING : We will be starting to offer piano moving again for the summer months. Keep in mind this is an Elite service. we have over 90 years experience in moving pianos. We have an enclosed truck and all the equipment to make these moves easier. Grand pianos are moved with the lids off and the actions removed and placed in special action containers. This is the old school way of doing grands, you are just asking for damage by not following those steps. Walkways and Grass areas are masonited if needed to protect historical stonework etc. If you need a cross country move we can broker that for you as well. We've been at this a very long time so we may have the simple solution. CHARITIES & SMALL PRODUCTIONS:
Contact us if you are in a bind and need a Free piano loaner for an event, it really makes no sense to us for a charity or small production to have to open their wallets and rent a piano which takes money away from their purpose.. Pianos will be loaned out with free pickup and delivery. We prefer that your music department person comes and looks at what's available in advance as stock changes without notice. Due to scams recently we want your request written on your charities letter head. We will also donate pianos and time/instruction to any charity/good cause looking to refurbish a piano for resale: EG Boy scout projects etc. We deliver any time of day or night 7 days a week with at least 1 day advanced notice.
SHIPPING /LOGISTICS: We do make trips to the following cities on a regular basis, Washington DC Maryland, Baltimore Maryland, St Louis MO, Louisville KY, Cincinatti OH . We are using a specialized piano carrier currently with great rates if you want a piano moved to the our area or want us to ship one to you. We will deliver within 50 miles for free and will exceed that radius.MUSIC AWARENESS : Since March 2009 we have given away over 100 pianos, our time and delivery to promote music awareness to small productions, dinner theaters, charities, churches, the poor, retirement homes etc
